Now a days most laptop & tablets manufacturers are offering Touch Screen devices which is very interactive way to perform your tasks.

One Big advantage of using a touch based device is that you do not need to use any external device like key board or mouse to direct towards the application icon which you want to open so in a way it is a quick way to use your device.

Although some applications requires combination of key board & mouse to work with certain programs like design software's which is difficult to do with a touch based device.

If developers and manufactures keep on developing more new software's and applications that works with touch screen display than only touch screen can replace the normal display devices.
